Catherine E. Aloisi, Esq., manages the firm's Elder Law Department headed by Partner, Todd E. Lutsky, Esq., LL.M. Catherine began her career as a paralegal with the firm in 2000, earned her Juris Doctor from Suffolk University Law School while attending evening classes, and became an associate in 2004.Catherine's practice encompasses estate planning at all levels, including the use of revocable and irrevocable trusts. She prepares estate plans for clients who have small businesses, Limited Liability Companies (LLCs), and extensive real estate holdings. She counsels clients on the use of Spousal Limited Access Trusts (SLATs), Intentionally Defective Grantor Trusts (IDGTs), Irrevocable Life Insurance Trusts (ILITs), and other estate tax reduction techniques. Catherine also supervises the team responsible for asset protection planning using strategies such as Medicaid Irrevocable Trusts, Annuities, and Pooled Trusts. This team handles the preparation and prosecution of MassHealth/Medicaid nursing home applications and has maintained an exceptional record of success. Catherine also has extensive experience in Special Needs Trust (SNT) planning, estate and trust administration, and the preparation of estate and gift tax returns. She is committed to providing competent, personalized advice and tailored documents to meet the unique needs of each client.

Catherine has been a speaker and educator on elder law and estate planning topics: She has presented on Basic Estate Planning for MCLE, served as presenter and moderator for the MCLE program "Preserving & Transferring Your Client's Principal Residence," and participated as a guest panelist at a REBA program discussing how reverse mortgages can be used to finance long-term care. She has also lectured on the use of ABLE accounts to protect public benefits for individuals with disabilities and has moderated numerous programs for the Massachusetts chapter of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys.

Catherine is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, where she serves on the Public Policy Committee and Program Committee. She has been selected to the Massachusetts Super Lawyers list from 2022 through 2025 and was previously named a Super Lawyers Rising Star in 2012.

Catherine earned her B.A. cum laude from Suffolk University, where she was named an Archer Fellow, with a concentration in Sociology, Criminology & Law.
